Clomid is an anti-estrogen drug.
Clomid is an enemy of estrogen medication of non-steroid structure. It stimulates the procedure of ovulation, while the correct component of activity stays indistinct. It is accepted that the dynamic substance of the medication, clomiphene, squares estrogen receptors in the ovaries and the nerve center by the pituitary organ. As a result, this has a stimulating effect on the maturation and endocrine activity of the follicle in the ovary, and then on the process of formation and functioning of the corpus luteum.
The use of the drug is shown to stimulate ovulation in infertility against the background of secondary ovarian hypofunction, mainly due to the impaired hypothalamic-pituitary system.
Never use Clomid if you have uterine bleeding of unknown etiology, severe renal or liver failure, ovarian cyst, bleeding, or insufficiency of function or tumor of the pituitary gland.
Instructions for using Clomid
You should start using Clomid on the fifth day of the menstrual cycle. The recommended dosage at the first cycle is 50 mg 1 time per day for 5 days.
When ovulation occurs on subsequent cycles of therapy, then it is not required to increase the dose. In the absence of a clinical effect in the first cycle, then after 30 days should be performed a second cycle of treatment with the daily dose of 100 mg for 5 days. You should not extend the course of therapy or increase the dose in the second cycle.
